Pierce County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release, post bond, obtain an official booking record, or act for a person in custody. Contact the responsible public office directly for those matters.
Official Pierce County Contacts
Choose the custodian that holds the record. The Sheriff administration office, Jail Booking line, and Corrections public-disclosure process have distinct roles. For a current local-custody question, use Jail Booking or the official LINX Jail Roster. A roster result is current-custody information, not a final court outcome.

Restricted Inmate Records
Attn: Public Disclosure Unit
3602 Pacific Ave. S. #100
Tacoma, WA 98418
Fax: (253) 798-7366
Booking photos are restricted under RCW 70.48.100. Pierce County identifies them as generally confidential. Use the Authorization for Release of Inmate Records form only when the inmate or a legally authorized representative can authorize release, or use a court-order route where applicable. It is not a general public-photo request.
Match the request to the record. Different offices hold different materials. Sending the request to the right one helps prevent delays and avoids confusing a police incident file with a Corrections custody record.
- For a Sheriff incident report, CAD report, traffic citation, or 911 audio, use South Sound 911's public-records process. South Sound 911 is not the Corrections custodian for restricted inmate records or booking photos.
- For a narrowly described Sheriff or Corrections record, begin with the Pierce County Sheriff public-records guidance and identify dates, names, incident details, and record type.
- For a court case, scheduled hearing, charge history, or disposition, use LINX and the court of record. A booking allegation may be reduced, dismissed, or resolved differently later.
- For a state-prison custody question, use the Washington DOC incarcerated-person search, not the Pierce County Jail roster.
- For a federal or immigration custody question, use the official BOP Inmate Locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator.
The home page consolidates the official search and records-request paths. Never treat an arrest or booking as proof of guilt; verify status with the official custodian and the court docket.
